Anne Marie Moore Named 2019 AZ Cattlewoman of the Year

Please join us in extending warm congratulations to Anne Marie Moore in being named the 2019 Arizona CattleWoman of the Year by the Arizona State Cowbelles.

To quote from the Arizona State Cowbells’ website,

“The 2019 CattleWoman of the Year was born in Phoenix, AZ in 1951. Her mother joined Cowbelles in 1953, so you can imagine that this little Cowbelle became very familiar with the Cowbelle organizations at an early age – at the local, state and national levels. She followed in her mom’s footsteps and was elected ASC President in 1988-90, her mom in 1965. She has served in every elected office in the AZ State Cowbelles and many offices in the local level organizations.

Her family farmed and ranched for many years in Arizona; she was active in 4-H as a child, later obtaining a degree from ASU and was selected to Project CENTRL (Center for Rural Leadership) Program. She has been involved in many leadership roles in state and national organizations. In 1988, she served as the ANCW Beef Promotion Chair.  In cooperation with the University of Arizona Animal Sciences Deptartment and ANCW, she helped produce the famous beef byproduct brochure “When is a Cow More Than a Cow?” – which later morphed into “Wow that Cow.” In 1969, she was selected as the Maricopa 4-H Fair Queen and just this year went back to the Maricopa Fair as their 50-year Reunion Queen.

By now you have probably guessed that our 2019 CattleWoman of the Year is Anne Marie Accomazzo Moore. Anne Marie is a country-raised cattlewoman ranching in southeastern Arizona.  She married Larry “Lariat” Moore in 1974 and has two children, Cassie Jo and Jake Taylor.

The family businesses have included the Bar M Bar Cattle Company, Rafter X Ranch, CJ Ranch, Square Top Ranch, Cattle Company Cowboy Exchange and Western Retail Ranch House Barb Wire China which Anne Marie designed by blending traditional and vintage motifs with a contemporary flair of western heritage. Moore’s background in decorative arts and textiles seasoned with her life on a working cattle ranch inspired the creation of this new western china.

Currently, Anne Marie is the Tucson Cowbelle Treasurer (which she has served for several years) and has been the driving force for the beautifully designed booth at the Tucson Festival of Books annual literature trade show. She has been very imaginative in fundraising projects to help the Tucson Cowbelles thrive as an active Local.

In addition to Cowbelles, Anne Marie has been very active in helping with various community events in Willcox, as well as in Tucson, with her artistic creations, to many hours of hard work completing various tasks for so many.

It is our honor to name Anne Marie Accomazzo Moore as the 2019 CattleWoman of the Year. “
