Results of SACPA’s Comments:
The Winkelman Natural Resources Conservation District (WNRCD) called the US Fish and Wildlife Service into Coordination. During the coordination process the WNRCD and USFWS reviewed the comments SACPA submitted. The WNRCD also introduced into the administrative record the preliminary results of an ongoing, decades-long study of the impacts of cattle grazing on the Sonoran Desert Tortoise. The USFWS accepted the study as the Best Available Science and reversed its decision that cattle grazing in the USA negatively affects the Sonoran Desert Tortoise.
