Proposed listing of Western yellow billed cuckoo not based on best science
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing to list the Western yellow billed cuckoo as a “threatened” species. Click here for background information.
The comment period has been reopened till February 24. Click here for details.
Section 4 of the Endangered Species Act requires all species listings to be based “solely on the best available scientific and commercial data.”
This proposed rule clearly violates Section 4, is arbitrary and capricious and must be withdrawn.
